Submitted terms are searched against indexed product names, brands, and UPC codes from Open Food Facts. Every record links to the product's ingredient breakdown, its composite safety score, and any FDA SAFFA (Substances Added to Food) regulatory flags and CSPI Chemical Cuisine ratings on its ingredients.

Across the full index this tool searches, 82.7% of products score 90-100 (minimal concerns), 9.1% score 70-89 (moderate concerns), and 8.2% score below 70 (elevated concerns) - so most search results will land in the top band, with flagged results standing out as the minority.

This is an additive-safety reference, not an active-recall database. For official recall notices, check the FDA recalls list and USDA FSIS recalls directly.
